[38:30]
To David We gave Solomon (for a son),- How excellent in Our service! Ever did he turn (to Us)!

* v.30 : The greatest in this life have yet need of this spiritual blessing! without it all worldly good is futile. Referring back to the story of David, we are now introduced to Solomon, who was a great king but greater still because he served Allah and turned to Him. The Our-,in, unlike the old Testament, represents Solomon as a righteous king, not as an idolater, doing "evil in the sight of the Lord" (1 Kings. xi. 6).
